Brand Development
We craft an entire brand experience. We delve deep into your vision, understand your audience, and translate that into a powerful visual and verbal identity that sets you apart.
What Is Branding?
Branding encompasses everything your audience feels and thinks about your business and/or your product or service. It usually starts with a logo, but goes far deeper, to include tag lines, employee uniforms, vehicles, merch, social media posts, even your company’s writing style, and the way your people answer the phone.
For larger enterprises brand development may include creation of sub-brands that are off-shoots of the parent company or product, which increasingly necessitates the creation of a comprehensive brand guide to keep a vast array of components knit together in a consistent suite of communications elements and policies.

Where Do We Start?
Ultimately it’s your customers who determine what your brand is. To uncover that we may begin with a brand survey that includes gathering data – opinions, perceptions, and even complaints – from your customers and other stakeholders, that will give insight into where you stand, and what must be done going forward. We’ll develop a plan to expand on the positive aspects of the results, and figure out how to change whatever isn’t working.
Branding Case Study: The Community Legal Education Ontario Project
CA14 was contracted to develop a visual branding system that updated and combined the visual identities of CLEO, the parent organization, and two other web-based initiatives, STEPS TO JUSTICE and CLEO Connect. We provided strategic and design services and guidance on a brand hierarchy, and preparation of design elements, both English and French, including other sub- brands as well.
The client requested that much of the old brand equity be retained; corporate symbol, and approach to colour. Combining these challenges with the prospect of coming up with a design program that knits together disparate brands, with no budget to significantly change them, or their websites, was challenging. A solution with ease of implementation across various tactics, and by full-time and contracted organization staff was required, which we delivered on.
A Brand guidelines and a suite of graphic files that covered all the design implementation requirements in a comprehensive but understandable way was designed and submitted.
